One fun meditation technique is to organize your thoughts into the four common elements, fire, water, air, and earth. You can either move from earth to fire for ascension, or from fire to earth for grounding.
FIRE: the generation of the initial impulse. What the thought or energy truly is, where it initiates.
WATER: the emotion associated with the thought. Any emotion can be deep or shallow. Notice both the depth and emotion associated with the thought or energy being processed.
AIR: the intellectual development provoked by the energy or thought. Concentrate on the creation and new ideas the impulse and emotion create.
EARTH: true realization. How impulse, emotion, and creation are actualized in the physical world.
